I've become obsessed, borderline infatuated with YouTuber Ali Abdaal. His video(s) convinced me that I should start my website up again. I'll get into my obsession with Ali in another post.

I've been working with and on computers regularly now since high school and I'm 42 as of this post, and in that time, I've certainly made a website or two. Not only for my "weblog" early on at UCSB for my friends back home in CT, before "social media" but also quasi-professionally in my early 20s for a salon, a SoCal culture magazine, a rental company, and at my day jobs.

My recent hesitation with a website or blog generally revolves around my hang-ups with personal privacy but also on silly things like which tech should I choose? Ali totally pinpointed me:

If you're also the sort of person that gets hung up on whether you wanna use Netlify or Heroku or Ghost or this and that, chances are you're not the sort of person who actually writes anything once a week on a website.

Ali also convinced me that, I'm fairly confident that I can write blog posts that could potentially be useful to at least one other person in the world.

So aside from introducing my new blog, I'll end with some initial thoughts I have for blog posts to come

  • Media I find useful, i.e. YouTube Channels, Articles, Podcasts, Email Newsletters, Books, etc.
  • Productivity Hacks, both personal and professional
  • Home Automation
  • Cybersecurity and protecting yourself digitally
  • Being a Director of DevOps, what does that entail?
  • Thoughts & ideas regarding personal improvement, betterment

Thanks for checking out Blog #1, going to try my earnest to add something of value to the web at least once per week🤞 ☮️
